Title: Online Chord Sites
Post by: jackthejesusfreak on August 14, 2009, 10:06:43 AM
Our praise band gets most of our lyrics and chords at the online sites.  However, there are some groups and songs that groups do that I am having a real hard time finding lyrics and, particularly chords.  Would anyone like to weigh in with some obscure sites that I can go to?
Thanks,
Jack

PS   I have the following sites bookmarked and I've checked there already:
chordie.com
christianguitar.com
christianguitar.org
christian.totaltabs.com

Here's where I'm most likely to find what I'm looking for:

 http://www.praisecharts.com/  (http://www.praisecharts.com/)

http://www.musicnotes.com/  (http://www.musicnotes.com/)

We use Chordie & PraiseCharts as well...

The site below does not have charts.. but it is a great site for bass players who want to study.
StudyBass.com (http://www.studybass.com/)

One problem with most of the "free" sites is that what you get is "Guitar Joe's" version of the song, and it is not always correct.  I guess you could call it a "fake version."  They work most of the time, but if you want the real stuff, you're gonna have to pay for it.

Some good paysites are:
1.  Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) - http://www.ccli.com   Highly Reccomended!
(if your church doesn't have this, you are probably violating copyright laws!)
2.  MusicNotes - (as mentioned by Eddie)  http://www.musicnotes.com  Both Christian and secular

Free sites:
1.  Higher Praise  - http://www.higherpraise.com
2.  Just Worship - http://www.justworship.com

Happy Hunting & God Bless!

Carl

While they are still issues in the software http://chordify.net/ can give you a start on those songs not popular enough to have posted tutorials, chord/lyric sheets or even the "chorded" format used by urban gospel keyboard sites.
