I just picked up a used MB150E/112 combo amp for $300. I feel like I stole it.  Grin

I used to play through a Roland Cube (60?) and I thought it sounded really good. Was a long time ago, and the amp belonged to another band member.

Okay, so I have never been a fan of Yamaha basses, but I picked up a TRB1005 on evilBay, and I am really diging it. I also picked up a MarkBass Compressore which I am also liking very much. I started using both of them at church this week, running the TRB1005 > Markbass > Radial JDI > mixer, and the tone (in my IEMs) is sweet. I will try to get a better review up after this weekend. We are playing every night this week so I will be ready to give feedback early next week. And photos, I hope!

Hello & Welcome Tom!

Yes, the Lord does get us to the right place at the right time doing the right thing!  Amazing!

As a seasoned guitarist, what do you find most interesting about playing bass?

Keep on Prasin'!

Thanks Chris, yes I still sing a bit, but these days I sound more like a frog on a muggy day Smiley

Welcome - I guess finger stretching on a 34" bass neck beats cramped chords on a 12 string!

If you were a "New Seekers" sorta guy, I guess you sing too!

Enjoy the posts

Good morning everyone, (or good evening as appropriate Smiley

I too found this site by accident and had to join. I'm Tom Anderson and I'm from Guisborough which is about 8 miles east of Middlesbrough.
My wife and I worship at Guisborough Methodist Church, my wife plays 12 string and I murder the bass. Our group has keyboards, drums, 6 & 12 string guitars, and several singers.

I'm now 65 going on 30 and retired, I played 12 string since the 1960's when I had a Seekers type group but the arthritis in my hands has got bad in the last 18 months so I've had to take up bass instead. Our last bassist left about that time sooo, isn't God's timing perfect? I do wish he had given me a bit more time to learn it than 2 weeks! But by his grace I've managed to fit in quite well but I'm no Billy Sheehan  Grin

Anyway Bless you all and thanks for the site.

Hi Dave, Carl, Chris and Tank,

Thanks for the kind welcomes. Looking forward to getting more involved in the forum.

Chris - glad to hear from a fellow Brit too. Will be good to keep in touch - I need all the bass help I can get!

All the best guys,

Hi Dave - there's a few Brits here too.
Lots of good stuff buried in the threads even if they are a year or two old.
I worship a Gold Hill BC in Chalfont St Peter, west of London - just around the M25 from you. Glad to have you aboard.
