I thought it might be fun just to see how many basses each of us own.

I have 5.  The wife says I have a case of gas....the proverbial guitar aquisition syndrome.  My next one is gonna be a fretless.  And the wife owes me an upright!!!!!  I'll probably never get the upright but I don't think you can ever own too many basses,  that way  I can play which ever one tickles my fancy. Basses do not "gently weep"... they will rattle the walls, lay the foundation, soothe the body and the mind, or bellow in fury as they strike you down with a bat'leth, but they do not "gently weep"...

If you count the basses at my shop, then I definitely have more than 5.

Right now I own eight, which is sick. But I am in the process of selling some of them off. I try to stay at four or less.

G&L L2500 fretless
G&L L2500
G&L L5500 (may be selling)
Lakland 5502 fretless (may be selling)
Old German upright
Cheapo Douglas 5 string (for sale)
Michael Kelly Dragonfly fretless five (I have not got it yet, may be for sale)
Epiphone El Captiana fretless five (don't have this one either - it and / or the Dragonfly will be sold)

I am sick, I need help.

Two.
G&L USA L2K and G&L USA L2500

I find between these two I really don't need anything else.

I keep trying to sell some, but they all have legitimate purposes:
Birdsong:  My main bass, the go to, top dawg.
the Epi Viola: my only semi-hollow, with flats.  You should always have a solid and a hollow body...
The ZZ Ryder:  Cheap.  Backup should my Birdsong go out.
the Viking bass (EB-0):  Modified it expressly for the purpose of playing at my school pep band games with my      band kids.
The Acoustic Electric:  So I can practice at camp or outside without an amp...

 :'(can I keep em?
