Has anyone ever owned and/or played both the Hofner Contemporary Violin Bass ($769.00 retail) and the Hofner Icon B Violin Bass ($429.99 retail)? Can you hear a definite difference in sound quality between the two? Thanks

I really wish I could help you.

I saw some new(er?) Hofner basses at the GC here in Nashville one day last week. I didn't play any of them.
The last time I had one of those in my hands would've been, 1979'ish.
